Hawthorne sits at the south end of Walker Lake in Mineral County, a town whose size and shape have been determined for generations by the Army depot outside it.

The visibility problem, and the fix
In a town this size there is no anonymous version of getting help. Everyone knows the vehicles.
That single fact keeps more rural Nevadans out of care than cost or skepticism ever has, and it is a rational concern rather than a delicate one.
Video sessions remove it completely — no office, no parking lot, no waiting room, no drive that anybody notices. Sessions work from home, a shop, or a parked truck.
Worth stating explicitly: nothing you say goes to your employer, your family, or anyone in your community. The exceptions are narrow and apply to everyone in Nevada — imminent risk of serious harm, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order.

Two things worth knowing.
Trauma treatment is structured and finite. Cognitive Processing Therapy runs around twelve sessions. EMDR proceeds through defined phases. These are not open-ended talking, and they do not require narrating everything.
Seeking care does not affect a clearance the way people fear. Federal guidance has moved substantially away from treating mental health treatment as disqualifying, and voluntary help-seeking is generally regarded as good judgment. What you discuss is protected health information and does not go to an employer without your written authorization.

The rural picture on risk
Suicide rates run consistently higher in rural areas than urban ones, and Nevada's rate has long exceeded the national average. Isolation, distance from care, economic pressure, and higher household firearm prevalence all contribute.
That last point is practical rather than political: during a period when someone is struggling, temporarily storing firearms with a trusted person or under a locked arrangement is among the most effective protective measures available. Reversible, and commonly done.

The cost of a course of treatment
We are in network with most major insurance plans. We do not accept Medicaid plans.
Nevada Medicaid covers behavioral health with no copay for most enrollees, and eligibility is income-based with no requirement to have children or a disability. Applications go through Access Nevada any time of year.
Self-pay is $150 with licensed clinicians, $125 with associate clinicians, and $25 to $60 with a graduate-level clinician, with a written estimate before you begin.
Your first session, concretely
Not a couch and not an interrogation. Mostly: what has been going on, what you have tried, and what you would want different in six months. You control the pace.
You should have a sense of direction within a few sessions.
